Learn HSK 1-6 by ear
The most common way HSK study goes wrong is this: you memorise a word list with your eyes and never hear the words said. Chinese is a tonal language, so a word learned without its sound becomes a word you do not recognise the moment a native speaker says it properly. You are not understood when you speak, and you do not catch it when you listen - you lose twice.
HEYGOW's HSK phrases are sentences built against the HSK 3.0 vocabulary list and sorted by level. They are not a word list: each one is a sentence the word actually lives in, with native audio, pinyin and a translation in your language. Tap it and it repeats until it sticks.
How to work through it by ear
The method is the same at every level. First pass: just listen and check the meaning. Second and third: listen and murmur along. From the fourth: look at the translation and try to say the Chinese before you see it. That alone changes how well it holds compared with reading a list.
On days you cannot sit down, leave it playing while you commute, walk or do chores. One tap repeats a phrase indefinitely, so it needs neither your hands nor your eyes. What is missing is rarely study time - it is total hours of hearing the language said correctly.
Work through the levels in order, or take only the chapters you need right now. Every phrase in every chapter has audio, so wherever you start is listening practice.
